Ledama Olekina

Ledama Olekina
President of MED, Ledama is a Maasai tribesman from Kenya. He studied political science and English communication at Fort Lewis College in Colorado and the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Ledama is currently active on numerous community boards focusing on cultural education, indigenous people rights and diversity in Kenya and America. Ledama has also worked as a researcher for Education Television N etwork, promoting cultural studies through TV programs around the world, and as a documentary researcher for Diverse Production in London. He has been an assistant producer for Reuters Television and Africa Journal, a weekly feature on Africa. In his efforts to raise awareness about and funding for issues affecting Africa in general and the Maasai in particular, Ledama has participated in fundraising walks across America. He has been influential in establishing volunteer projects in schools encouraging Maasai youth to work together in order to improve their level of education. He is one of the few Maasai to receive a college education.

Cliff Moskow

Cliff Moskow
Cliff Moskow, MA political science, is the chairman of the board of MED. He is dedicated to public service and is politically active. He is a principal of Bay State Realty, which owns commercial real estate in Boston, Massachusetts. Cliff is also president of Warthog Productions, a documentary producing non-profit corporation. He has produced several documentaries which have been shown on National Geographic and PBS. Wandering Warrior, his best known film, tells the life story of a Maasai warrior living between the worlds of Kenya and the United States. Cliff believes in using film as a vehicle to communicate and educate the public about cross-cultural issues. He also serves as a trustee of varied educational institutions. Since 1987, Cliff has spent a great deal of time in Africa doing non-profit work and producing documentaries. He has been adopted by the Maasai community as a respected junior elder.

Jason Campbell Sparks

Jason Campbell Sparks
An MED Board Member, Jason received his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University in 1992. After graduating, Jason worked with large information systems development projects in North America for EduCare, Academy Sporting Goods, the Canadian Government, Porsche Cars North America, Westburne and Resources Trust Company. In 1997 he moved to Asia to manage LANSA Software's partner network. In 2000, Jason joined Media Arts in Singapore where he served as Vice President of Strategy working with clients such as Coca Cola, AIA, HSBC and McKenzie & Company.

In 2004 Jason helped grow Logical Steps from India into other Asian markets and North America. Today Jason is a Director of Logical Steps. He is also President of Dr. Flowers Test Prep. Jason resides with his wife Annick and daughter Sofia in Denver, Colorado and is committed to helping humanity through education.

Waseem Sheikh

Waseem Sheikh
Waseem Sheikh is a Director of Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) and group leader of the supply chain and Product life cycle management (SCM/PLM) practices within IBSG at Cisco Systems, Inc.

Mr. Sheikh has over 20 years of experience in industries that are characterized by highly engineered, capital intensive and complex products and associated services. His professional experience includes comprehensive “hands-on” expertise in consulting, engineering, sales and marketing, engineering management and program management.

Prior to Cisco, Mr. Sheikh served as a Vice President and Group leader of the manufacturing industry practice at Razorfish, a digital commerce consulting company focused on process improvement and web enablement of high impact business drivers. His practice routinely conceived and implemented client solutions incorporating e- procurement, e- logistics, e- learning and knowledge management.

Before joining Razorfish, Mr. Sheikh was a Vice-President/Partner and a practice co-leader at A.T. Kearney Inc., a global high-value-added management consultancy. At A.T. Kearney, Mr. Sheikh’s focus included strategy, acquisition, divestitures and mergers, operational process improvement and revenue enhancement. Mr. Sheikh pioneered the use of rapid financial assessment and operational improvement tools, such as the “CEO Agenda/Growth through Innovation,” across multiple industry groups.

Prior to A.T. Kearney, Mr. Sheikh was a Managing Consultant at EDS Management Consulting Services (MCS), and for 13 years held various general management positions within the Resources Conservation Company (a unit of Reading and Bates) and Boeing.

Mr. Sheikh holds a Masters degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University, an MBA in Finance and a BS in Aeronautics and Astrosnautics Engineering from the University of Washington, and an Associate of Arts from Oxford University. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

Richard Williams

Richard Williams
MED-UK Director, Director for Enterprise at NCVO (National Council For Voluntary Organisations) in the UK and formerly Group Development Director for BTCV a leading UK based environmental volunteering charity. He has worked in the UK Voluntary and Community Sector for 23 years focussing on youth and social enterprise, environment and diversity. Richard has been committed to diversity throughout his career and developed BTCV’s Environments for All initiative. He is founder and chair of the Wandsworth Youth Enterprise Centre, a trustee of the Environment Council, a Vice President of BTCV and patron of Minorities of Europe a cutting edge small charity leading on cultural diversity interventions.
